Did you know that there’s a place where nature and fun come together?
Our Lower Secondary 2 students immersed themselves in the wonders of the Botanical Garden of Padua, famous for being one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. Guided by our teachers John Feehan and Marta Grigoletto, students explored the rich history of the Garden but also delved into the importance of biodiversity in promoting environmental balance and respect.
Did you know that the Botanical Garden has more than 3,500 species? Lovely flowers, medicinal plants, algae and lichens were the main attractions of the day. Students had a great time exploring this green paradise, turning this experience into a lasting memory.
The trip was enriched by a literary journey through emotions, fostering group discussions and collaboration. The book Fiori e fulmini by Luigi dal Cin – an intense and inspired narrative, where the protagonist’s stories are intertwined with the history of the Botanical Garden of Padua – was a very useful tool to accompany the visit to this natural paradise. The way our students integrated science, literature, hands-on experience, and personal thoughts shows the power of multidisciplinary learning.
Upon returning from this trip, enthusiasm pervaded everyone, and parents were personally involved in the stories of this incredible adventure. Our students are already thinking about the next adventure…stay tuned!
