Join the #ioleggoperché Book Donation Project and Make a Difference in Our School Library!
Our school is proud to announce its participation in #ioleggoperché, one of Italy’s largest book donation initiatives, dedicated to enriching school libraries and fostering a love of reading among students of all ages. Organized by the Italian Publishers Association (AIE), this nationwide campaign aims to make quality books accessible to young readers, filling library shelves across Italy with stories, knowledge, and new perspectives.
The #ioleggoperché initiative connects schools, publishers, bookstores, and the broader community, inviting people to come together and support school libraries. With the belief that books are essential for education and personal growth, this project provides a unique opportunity for families, students, and community members to contribute directly to the literary resources available in schools.
How Can You Participate?
From November 9 to November 17, 2024, community members can visit participating bookstores or online stores to buy books specifically for school libraries. Each book purchased during this period can be donated directly to a school, adding valuable new titles to its collection. Additionally, publishers are generously contributing more than 100,000 books, increasing the reach of the project and enhancing the diversity of materials available to students.
School libraries play a crucial role in education, serving as a space for exploration, research, and imagination. By expanding our library’s collection, students gain access to a variety of reading materials that enrich their academic studies and personal development. Books donated through #ioleggoperché range across many genres and subjects, from fiction and poetry to history, science, and beyond, offering something for every young mind.
We encourage everyone—parents, students, teachers, and community supporters—to join us in this important initiative. A single book can open countless doors of discovery, curiosity, and understanding, especially for students who may not have regular access to books outside of school. Every donation, large or small, will make an impact.
