On Monday, November 25, Primary 5 students embarked on a school trip to the Puro & Bio – School of Artisan Ice Cream in Rosà. The outing offered students a unique opportunity to step out of the classroom and into a world of creativity, sensory exploration, and hands-on learning.
The day centered around an interactive workshop and sensory tasting, where students experienced the art of ice cream production firsthand. Guided by the artisans at Puro & Bio, the children learned about the intricate process of crafting high-quality, artisanal ice cream while reflecting on the differences between artisanal and industrial products. Throughout the session, students actively participated in making their own ice cream, honing skills such as teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. The immersive experience was designed to blend practical learning with theoretical understanding, making it a day to remember for all.
The experience tied seamlessly into their classroom learning. While making ice cream, students practiced mathematical concepts like measurements and proportions, experimented with flavors, and learned how sustainable practices play a role in everyday decisions. This outing was not only a treat for the taste buds but also a rich educational experience that underscored the value of experiential learning. We look forward to organizing more such opportunities to inspire our students and expand their horizons.
