Kicked off this week is the International Pen Pall Project involving students in grades 5A and 5B at our school and Primary School students from St. Cecilia School in Maple, Toronto. A wonderful opportunity for our children who throughout the course of the year, will maintain a correspondence with their new Canadian friends.
It is an important project that aims to encourage the use of the English language through communication with peers from another country, foster openness to new cultural patterns, as well as learning the customs of a country other than our own, enriching their vocabulary and, above all, triggering emotional relationships and friendships that stimulate the children’s journey towards their personal growth.
